What is the PyramidG2 Financial Module?

The PyramidG2 Finance Modules provide registered landlords with a complete set of integrated ledgers to manage every aspect of organisational finance. Because they are fully connected to the wider PyramidG2 system, financial data flows automatically from across the organisation. So when rent is posted, a repair invoice is raised, or a recharge is processed, your finance team will have immediate visibility. This real-time integration reduces duplication, improves accuracy, and ensures that financial records are always up to date.

Designed for flexibility, the finance suite can be used entirely within PyramidG2 or seamlessly integrated with trusted third-party applications such as Sage, Xero, and Open Accounts via the built-in integration. This allows providers to maintain a single source of truth while continuing to work with the systems and partners they prefer.

Together, the Finance Modules give organisations the control, compliance, and transparency they need to manage budgets, reconcile accounts, track assets, and report with confidence. Whether it’s tenant recharges, supplier invoices, depreciation forecasting, or management reporting, PyramidG2 delivers a finance solution that is both powerful and tailored to the needs of the social housing sector. Modules Include:

Nominal Ledger

At the heart of PyramidG2’s finance suite lies the Nominal Ledger, delivering real-time, fully integrated financial accounting. Every transaction (whether it’s rent, repairs, purchase invoices, or sales) is automatically captured in the ledger, giving managers immediate access to reliable, up-to-date information. With up to 13 accounting periods open at once, finance teams gain the flexibility to manage current activity while retaining full control over past and future periods.

Designed to support organisations of all sizes, the Nominal Ledger allows for up to 9,999 cost centres with user-defined alphanumeric codes, alongside comprehensive notes for each account. Integrated sub-ledgers, including Component Accounting for property assets and development as well as fixed assets for non-property items, provide a complete structure for both housing and organisational finances. Automated processes such as depreciation journals, reversing journals, and recurring postings not only reduce manual effort but also ensure accuracy and maintain a transparent audit trail.

Powerful reporting tools make the Nominal Ledger more than just a record-keeping system, it becomes a strategic decision-making hub. Users can analyse transactions, break down data by scheme or cost centre, and produce essential outputs like income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, and trial balances. Reports export seamlessly to Excel for tasks such as HMRC Making Tax Digital submissions, while custom schedules support tailored management reporting and cost apportionment. Combined with a five-year budget planner and revision features, the Nominal Ledger empowers organisations to stay in control of their finances today and plan confidently for tomorrow.

Purchase Ledger

The PyramidG2 Purchase Ledger enables social landlords to maintain a complete and accurate database of suppliers and contractors, supporting everything from repairs and maintenance to purchase order processing. Each supplier record is fully configurable with user-defined alphanumeric codes and includes detailed contact information, approval status, and turnover history by month and year-to-date. With the ability to store up to 999 individual contacts per supplier, organisations can maintain a rich, centralised information hub accessible to all departments (locked behind user permissions where required)

The module streamlines the entire purchasing process with features such as an invoice register/worktray, on-screen authorisation, electronic invoice storage, and automated payment posting to the Nominal Ledger. Credit terms and approval workflows can be configured to match organisational policies, while support for BACS ensures payment runs are efficient and reliable. Free-form purchase order processing with authorisation further simplifies day-to-day procurement management.

To support financial oversight, the Purchase Ledger provides comprehensive audit trails, VAT analysis, and a wide range of reporting tools. Users can track aged creditors, monitor payments due and analyse committed expenditure from repairs and purchase orders. Together, these features help housing providers maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure full financial transparency.

Sales Ledger

The PyramidG2 Sales Ledger provides a comprehensive solution for managing sundry debtor accounts, from tenant repair recharges and court costs to general invoicing. Fully integrated with the wider finance suite, it links seamlessly with the Rent Ledger to ensure accuracy when tenant-related recharges are required. With free-form invoicing, electronic document storage, automated statement generation, and built-in workflow tools, the Sales Ledger streamlines debtor management and reduces the administrative burden on finance teams.

Each customer account can be tailored with alphanumeric codes, offering flexibility in how records are organised. The system provides instant visibility of turnover both monthly and year-to-date, giving staff the insights they need at a glance. Customer records can hold up to 999 individual contacts, including names, roles, and full details, ensuring all communication and collections can be managed efficiently and in one place.

To support financial control and forward planning, the Sales Ledger offers a wide range of reporting and forecasting tools. Standard outputs include audit trails, daybooks, VAT analysis, and aged debtor reports, helping organisations monitor performance and stay compliant. By combining detailed account management with robust reporting, the module gives registered landlords and housing providers the visibility, accuracy, and confidence they need to manage sundry debts effectively.

Component Accounting

The PyramidG2 Component Accounting module helps social housing providers comply with FRS102 and the Statement of Recommended Practice by delivering full control over property asset records, associated grants, and lifecycle costs. Providers can record components at property or scheme level, track additions, disposals, and depreciation, and maintain a complete audit trail for compliance and reporting purposes. As components are replaced, the system writes off old records and creates new ones, retaining all historic entries for the life of the property.

Organisations have the flexibility to define their own component types (e.g. land, structure, kitchens, bathrooms), automatically depreciate thousands of records simultaneously, and control how disposals are handled, including whether grants are recycled. Grants can be amortised at structural level, with full reporting on distribution and reconciliation against original totals. This ensures accuracy while reducing administrative workload.

Fully integrated with the Nominal Ledger, all postings are actioned in a single movement for each period, keeping financial records consistent and up to date. With powerful automation, flexible configuration, and detailed reporting, PyramidG2 Component Accounting provides registered landlords with the tools they need to manage property assets with confidence and remain fully compliant with financial regulations.

Fixed Assets

Our Fixed Assets module combines all the core features you would expect from a traditional asset register with additional tools designed to make managing your assets more efficient and intuitive. At the heart of the module is a highly flexible grid that allows you to view, filter, and customise asset information without the need to run reports. From standard fields such as asset description, depreciation type, percentage and period, purchase details, and net book value (NBV), to tailored views like “active assets only,” the grid provides a complete, real-time snapshot of your portfolio. Once personalised, these views can be exported repeatedly to Excel, making it simple to keep your reporting consistent and accessible.

To further streamline asset management, the module includes tools that go beyond the basics. The “regular postings” feature enables you to set up depreciation schedules and post them all at once, reducing the need for manual journal entries, though you can still process depreciation manually if preferred. Each asset record captures detailed information, including purchase and disposal data, financing details, location, serial numbers, and remarks, with options for grouping assets using “flags.” Built-in calculators also remove guesswork by automatically applying depreciation rules based on the variables you define.

For businesses managing assets at scale, efficiency is supported through batch processes and integrations. You can import assets or update existing records directly from Excel templates, saving significant time when onboarding multiple assets (such as a fleet of vehicles) or applying updates across several records at once. The module also integrates with SharePoint, allowing you to link and open supporting documents, such as invoices and any leases or financial agreements. Together, these features make the Fixed Assets module both comprehensive and practical, offering the flexibility to adapt to the needs of any organisation.

Landlord Ledger

The PyramidG2 Landlord Ledger gives social housing organisations the tools to efficiently manage properties on behalf of private landlords or local authorities. Whether operating under a Guaranteed Rent or Paid When Paid agreement, and for single properties or entire portfolios, the module ensures accurate management and transparent financial control.

Fully integrated with other PyramidG2 ledgers, staff always work with the latest information when carrying out day-to-day tasks, including:

  • Rent collection
  • Property repairs & maintenance
  • Void management
  • Self-billing
  • Landlord payments & recharges

By centralising landlord property management in one system, organisations can streamline administration, reduce errors, and provide landlords with confidence that their assets are being managed professionally and transparently.
